Library Trustees are appointed by the elected Flathead County commissioners. They are charged with the operation of the library and its county budget.

The Library Foundation is a group of library loving individuals working to raise funds for materials and support that is not included in the county budget. We provide the frosting on the cake… and work to make a good library… great.

Yes, however, the county library budget has not seen an increase in its budget in over 5 years.

In those five years, Flathead County has seen unprecedented population growth. Our library services are stretched thin; our facilities are too small, too old, or not ours; and our librarians don’t always have the materials and resources to make their programs as life-changing as they could be.

The ImagineIF Foundation raises private money to allow our libraries to go above and beyond what our county budget provides.
